The 2014 BMW 4 Series Coupe will be either a rear-wheel or all-wheel drive
vehicle, wearing a 428i, 428i xDrive, 435i, or 435i xDrive name tag. These cars are the first in
a long line of future vehicles to wear the 4 Series badge, which replace the 3 Series
Coupe. It is available in a convertible version as well.
To help BMW driving enthusiasts differentiate between their models, the iconic
automaker has adapted a new numbering system. More practical models, like sedans
and wagons, will begin with odd numbers. Dynamic models, including convertibles and
coupes, receive even-numbered names. The 2014 4 Series falls into this exciting later
category.
Under the hood of the 428i models is a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder
engine producing 240 horsepower and 255 pound-feet of torque. The 435i vehicles will
have a turbocharged 3.0-liter in-line six engine rated higher, at 300 horsepower and 300
pound-feet of torque. The "M" emblem will distinguish those models with extra power.
Transmission choices include a six-speed manual or eight-speed automatic.
The exterior design is stylish, yet well-balanced. BMW is extremely proud of the
distinctive 4 Series, having taken years to fully plan it. The grille is significantly larger
than on previous BMW models, making it look fiercely aggressive. The headlights
stretch towards the sides of the front fascia and are just above the wide air dam.
The interior cabin will include loads of leather, wood, and Alcantara surfaces.
Premium options will comprise of exclusive material choices and individual
personalization options.
